In a coaching assignment, our role is to help you define what "heavy lifting" you want to do and help you get it done. In this role, we serve more as facilitators, providing a unique blend of gentle, or not so gentle advise, applicable information, guidance, mentoring, tools, truth telling, and so on that help you get the job done.
Unlike business and corporate coaching, HR solutions consulting takes on more of an advisor role. You start by identifying a need for outside expertise and/or an objective, neutral third party. If your needs and our services are aligned, and we agree to work together, we will work with you, your team and your organization to design a solution.
While this describes an oversimplified process, essentially this is what happens: We collaborate to set the objectives and parameters of the project, if they aren’t already clearly defined and understood. Then we essentially deliver on those results, usually in the form of a written and oral report, or by facilitating a process such as a strategic planning or training session. The onus is on us to do the "heavy lifting," get the job done, produce great results, provide recommendations, design strategies, ensure a fluid process, report back, etc.
