Never before in history have there been four generations in the workplace. Within the next 10 years, forces will impact the workplace in ways never before seen and will require companies to adjust, or be negatively impacted. Without an understanding of the different values, communication styles and needs and wants of each generation, organizations face an increasingly difficult challenge of finding and keeping the right people, effective team performance and maintaining a positive, trust filled organizational culture. This “generational divide” affects recruiting, succession planning, communication practices and management styles, just to name a few.
Participants in this half day session will gain insight into understanding generational issues, communication styles and effective management practices to build and maintain a harmonious and productive workplace.
Objectives of the workshop are:
• Who makes up the workplace?• Understanding generational values and characteristics• What are the challenges and connections made with each generation• Developing effective communication• Effective management strategies for the generations
